METROPOLITAN FIRE ASSOCIATION ATLANTA

The MFA continues to have only virtual monthly meetings. These are being supplemented by several “Field Trip” events during the year. Normally, these will be on a Saturday morning to make physical visits to see departments’ apparatus and stations as well as have lunch together. Therefore, the monthly meetings of the MFA will be conducted “virtually”.

The access code and directions will soon be provided via a separate e-mail. We encourage you to load the link and try it. If your computer has a camera when you open the link, you should see yourself. Play with it as you are not connected to anything. Doing this will get you used to the system. Once you do this you will be all set to attend.

Our next virtual meeting will be on TUESDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2024, beginning at 19:30 (Eastern time). Please let us know if you need assistance in using this meeting method. It is not hard, and we can walk you through the steps, BUT ahead of meeting night!!

Our guest speaker for October will be Woodstock, Georgia Department Chief Shane Dobson. Chief Dobson retired from DeKalb County FD and returned to where he started his Fire Service Career. Woodstock is in an area which is rapidly growing as is most of Metro Atlanta. We look forward to an update on operations within the Woodstock Fire Department and some of the issues the WFD is now facing.

Remember if you cannot “computer in”, you can call in with the number provided. We hope YOU will mark your calendar and plan to come on-line later this month.
