METROPOLITAN FIRE ASSOCIATION ATLANTA

The MFA continues to have only virtual monthly meetings. These are being supplemented by several “Field Trip” events during the year. Normally, these will be on a Saturday morning to make physical visits to see departments’ apparatus and stations as well as have lunch together. Therefore, the monthly meetings of the MFA will be conducted “virtually”.

The access code and directions will soon be provided via a separate e-mail. We encourage you to load the link and try it. If your computer has a camera when you open the link, you should see yourself. Play with it as you are not connected to anything. Doing this will get you used to the system. Once you do this you will be all set to attend.

Our next virtual meeting will be on TUESDAY, 28 January 2025 beginning at 19:30 (Eastern time).

Please let us know if you need assistance in using this meeting method. It is not hard, and we can walk you through the steps, BUT ahead of meeting night!!

Our first guest speaker for 2025 will be Department Chief Antonio Burden, Fire Chief and EMA Director of Augusta / Richmond County Georgia. Augusta, Richmond County is one of the consolidated governments in Georgia and covers an area of 329 square miles. Chief Burden previously spent 26 miles with the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department. We look forward to learning about their fire and emergency service.

Remember if you cannot “computer in”, you can call in with the number provided. We hope YOU will mark your calendar and plan to come on-line later this month.
