METROPOLITAN FIRE ASSOCIATION ATLANTA

Due to continuation of the COVID 19 pandemic, access to fire stations continues to range from limited to totally restricted by anyone other than department members.  Therefore, the February 2023 meeting of the MFA will again be conducted “virtually.”

The access code and directions will soon be provided via a separate e-mail.  We encourage you to load the link and try it.  If your computer has a camera when you open the link you should see yourself.  Play with it as you are not connected to anything.  Doing this will get you used to the system.  Once you do this you will be all set to attend.

Our meeting will be TUESDAY, 28 February 2023, beginning at 19:30.  Please let us know if you need assistance in using this meeting method. It is not hard, and we can walk you through the steps, BUT ahead of meeting night!!

Montreal Division Chief J. Gordon Routley will be our guest speaker.   Chief Routley is the liaison representative for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Prior to his position with the Montreal Fire Department, he previously served as Assistant to the Fire Chief in Phoenix, Arizona; Fire Chief in Shreveport, Louisiana; and Safety Officer in Prince George’s County, Maryland.  He has been actively involved in IAFC firefighter health and safety projects for more than 30 years and for the past 10 years with National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program. He has participated in numerous investigations of firefighter injuries and fatalities including the research done after the Sofa Super store disaster in Charleston SC.

Remember if you cannot “computer in,” you can call in with the number provided.  We hope YOU will mark your calendar and plan to come on-line later this month.
